Interactive Art Piece  

Blank war is a platform I created for the public to share their opinions and feelings towards the recent conflicts between Iran and the United States. As an Iranian living in the states it brakes my heart to see innocent people and families being affected by politics and felt eager to make a piece about it but I did not want to be the only one that has a part in it because I was sure I wasn't the only one that had an opinion about it.  As a result #blankwar took place at Washington Square Park in lower Manhattan, and in the duration of  5 hours I invited friends, family and people walking by to paint or write anything they want on the canvas. There were many that didn't even turn their heads to look at me, on the other hand, I spent 30 minutes with people talking, hugging, and sharing our thoughts. Truly, it was so empowering to invite strangers to be part of something so personal to me and have this canvas to stand as a symbol for unity and hope!
